The best students of each top university around the world presented their collections during the Graduate Fashion Week, that took place from June 4th to June 7th 2017 at The Old Truman Brewery, Shoreditch, London. For the fifth year running, Graduate Fashion Week organized the renowned International Catwalk Competition, this time the event was sponsored by Swarovski. The winner of this year’s competition is menswear designer Po-Chieh Chiu, who received a prize of £1,000, alongside the opportunity to showcase his collection with Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week this coming September.
“Over the past few years it has been fun watching this international element of GFW grow. As International Trustee I have really enjoyed bringing different institutions together under one platform. Today we have over 30 top institutes from all over the world showing in London, in a contemporary world where collaboration has replaced hard competitiveness, united in sharing all our successes and celebrate our differences. The culture of fashion has many different aspects in different parts of the world and each country enjoys expressing their own identity.” – Adrien Yakimov Roberts, International Trustee at Graduate Fashion Week.
