The renowned fashion house Chloé unveiled its much-anticipated womenswear collection today, crafted in collaboration with creative powerhouse Atelier Jolie. This latest offering exemplifies a harmonious blend of Chloé’s timeless elegance and Atelier Jolie’s innovative vision, focusing on an eveningwear line that promotes genuine connections between women.
CAPSULE COLLECTIONS
The collection, co-designed by Atelier Jolie’s founder Angelina Jolie, echoes a shared commitment to social and environmental sustainability between the two entities. The use of environmentally-conscious materials, including organic silk and certified wool, ensures that at least 80% of the collection’s items are of lower impact. This bold step surpasses any previous endeavors by the B Corp certified Maison Chloé, furthering their pledge towards a more sustainable future.
Championing artisanal craftsmanship, this collection involves Akanjo, a World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) affiliated enterprise from Madagascar, and La Fabrique Nomade, a Parisian initiative advocating for the inclusion of refugee and migrant artisans. With more than half the collection being sourced through fair-trade or social enterprises, Chloé reiterates its commitment to ethical production.
The line, developed by former Chloé Creative Director Gabriela Hearst in tandem with Angelina Jolie, boasts of sleek dresses, luxurious outerwear, and chic tailored pieces. Many designs draw inspiration from Jolie’s personal wardrobe, translating her minimalist aesthetic into the Maison’s signature feminine style.
Among the standout pieces is a black velvet opera cape that elevates any ensemble with its timeless elegance. A white dress crafted from deadstock micro silk sable and the Maison’s iconic lavallière shirt in deadstock hammered silk-satin demonstrate the collection’s fluidity and grace.
In line with Atelier Jolie’s 2023 mission, which seeks to provide opportunities for refugees and marginalized groups, a scallop-mesh embroidered white cotton tank top has been crafted in collaboration with La Fabrique Nomade. Profits from Jolie’s end will fund apprenticeships and infrastructural support for underrepresented groups under the Atelier Jolie banner.
Starting January 2024, the Chloé x Atelier Jolie collection will be available at Chloé boutiques and on Chloe.com.
