The construction of The Chicago Spire designed by Santiago Calatrava started in July 2007, the focus was to reach the first occupancy early in 2011. By the looks of it the construction will be stalled due to lack of funding for the Spire skyscraper . With its completion the Spire will be the tallest Skyscraper in the United States.
