Gucci fall winter collection brought once again Milan Fashion Week to a hold while the who's who of the fashion world attended the show (and the rest tuned into the live stream) in anticipation of Frida Giannini's latest fashion escapade. The designer and her team have masterfully shaped a collection going hand in hand with the recently shown menswear one.
The lines are clean and shaped in a meticulous manner, bringing the classic details with a contemporary solution. The sentiment of menswear resonates in a slew of pieces, easily spotted in outerwear as well as the day-wear (work appropriate attires). The pastel blue and powder pink come as refreshing touch to the winter colour palette, while animal prints and showstopping crystal embellishments allow the Gucci girl to create a statement upon entering a room.
Giannini and her creatives while shaping the garments with a nod to the classic men's and women's lines, have chosen materials grasping a stark almost armour like form for the same. Leather certainly takes the lead in this instance, any woman wearing Gucci becomes a modern day warrior in labels Fall Winter 2014 pieces. What in the 80s were oversized shoulders today is the impeccable approach to minimalism and crisp clean design combined with just the right use of materials that empowers the modern day woman.
