Renowned german fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer presented his S/S 2016 premium collection “Bon Voyage” in the evening of the 8th of July 2015, the second show day during Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Berlin. With this collection, the creative spirit behind the German label sends his customer on a journey to Southern destinations. The collection contained both womens-, and menswear pieces, as well day-, and evening wear. Being significant for this collection is its glamorous, sophisticated touch which expresses pure joie de vivre. It is one of those collections that makes you dream of foreign countries, traveling, summer breeze. Summer time, and the living is easy.
One of the highlights of this collection were glamorous floor- length, floating silk dresses. Cut- wise, some of them showing the shoulder, some of them embellished with sequins. Moreover sophisticated dresses that can be worn during the day, elegant shorts and suits were presented. Guido Maria Kretschmer took its inspiration from a vacation in France, or, to say it more precisely, from Normandy which is located in the North- West of France near the ocean. His choice of fabrics underlined the collections’ sophisticated touch: japanese silk, embroidered chiffon, floating jersey and glamorous sequins. His colour palette consisted of rich gold, but also more restrained hues could be noticed, for instance rosé, créme, silver and maritime blue reminding us of the ocean. Pattern- wise, maritime stripes could be noticed in several variations. Sometimes blue paired with white, sometimes rosé with créme.

The mood of the collection is sophisticated and wearable with just the right amount of each. It is the perfect addition for any holidays’ wardrobe. The hair of the models was styled with side parting, bun and smokey eyes. Hardly any other designer is as beloved as Guido. He is clearly Berlins’ fashion darling. As much as Guido enchanted with his new collection, as much he enchanted us.
