British luxury brand Mackintosh presented its Fall Winter 2016 menswear collection during the recently wrapped up London Collections: Men. The focus for the brand was on outerwear, tailoring the men’s classic pieces with a trend-shaping view in mind.
A clean monochrome colour palette interspersed with rich tones of camel, bordeaux, bottle green and light navy informs the collection. This monochrome theme is reinforced through the use of traditional British checks; a broken Prince of Wales check appears in black and charcoal, while a square block print in shades of black, white and grey creates a graphic check pattern on a wool coat. For the first time this season Mackintosh developed white versions of its signature rubberised cotton raincoats. A chalk white is used on a single-breasted raincoat with contrast black buttons and cuffs. This style also comes in the reverse with white cuffs appearing on a black coat. A more creamy shade of white appears on a minimal hooded raincoat. All of the rubberised cotton raincoats are made in Scotland and are completely waterproof. – from Mackintosh
