FALL WINTER 2016 WOMENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
Pop ton. Print evolution. Exercises of discrepancy. Colour is the thread that weaves together the vision of next winter’s collection: a wardrobe, a suspended microcosm, interpreting a vision of absolute elegance, but also lightweight, feminine, and free. The coat with water-coloured print in earthy browns and sea blues is crossed by cuts of white light, reminiscent of hand-painted porcelain based on the colour of the works of Giò Ponti. It is worn with a dress with tight bodice, in crispy black fabric, and a full skirt in forest green thick fabric. The same print is painted on the hood with pointed hems and wide neckline – the focus is always on the neck in this collection – to be worn buttoned and flat with the lapels open or raised. The colour explores a new perspective, refracted in a game of details. Ink blue, ice, butter-yellow, forest green. Matching solid colours alternate with each other, appearing to be crossed by light. They are combined in the mosaic print of the jacket in double stretch wool which is worn with A-line trousers and a white blouse. Exercises of discrepancy in the combinations, balancing of bold colours, skilful and unexpected games. The “robe de chambre” in double flannel has white sleeves, the front and back are in the same fabric, but in black. Collarless, is closed at the waist with a belt and is worn with a corn yellow shirt and trousers with onion-coloured cuffs. The full skirt, made in fluo strawberry red, is worn with an onion-coloured collarless blouse with contrasting wide cuffs in white. The corn yellow skirt in bi-elastic twill superimposes clean lines and a large flounce in the waist. It is worn with a delicate pink wool canvas blouse. White and black designed as absolutes and trompe l’oeil effect for the coat in double black flannel, with a large white “abbadessa” collar closed by a small white button, a mark of style. Monochrome, this is the dress of this season. In wool canvas – crisp fabric – cherry coloured, round neck and with long sleeves, the dress melts away all seriousness with the drawstring waist that forms pipe-shaped pleats and hem with irregular points. Made of the same crisp onion-coloured fabric, the dress with deep V neckline acquires a strong character with flounces in overlapping fabric that cinches the waist at the front in the caramel colour version, essential in the top and with a game of superimposed skirts constructed with soft, enveloping pleats. Musso style for the next season features ankle boots in ink blue and fire red with stiletto heels worn with seasonal coats in doubled fabrics and sartorial details. Always elegant and full of energy. – from Roberto Musso
