Fall is a peculiar time. Some days are dark, wet and dismal, but others are light, bright and warm. For this reason, it can be hard to choose the right outfit, as you never know whether you are going to sweat or shiver when you step out of the door.
It’s easy for men. They can browse Lanieri’s top quality suits and shirts if they need some new outfits for their fall closet. Women have a much tougher time. With so many different fall looks to choose from, it is no wonder women struggle to pull together the right look.
To make things easier for you, here are some of the hottest fashion trends this fall.
Open-Toe Boots
Boots are traditionally a winter garment, but the latest fall winter 2016 fashion for open-toe boots manages to successfully cross the divide between summer and winter. Fall is the perfect time to wear these cool booties. Give your toes a manicure and pop on some sexy suede boots. They look super foxy with skinny jeans or a slinky dress.
Fall Blazers
Blazers are hot right now, even when the weather is not quite so hot. Celebs love blazers and people like Rita Ora are regularly papped wearing a structured blazer over sexy hot pants and a skinny tee. You could take a risk and wear your blazer without a base layer, but if you prefer to play it safe, slip on a shirt or bandeau top.
Over-the-Knee-Shoes
Fall is a great time to dig out your favorite pair of suede over-the-knee-shoes. In winter, you would wear them with jeans and a thick coat, but because it is still fall and therefore relatively warm, you can easily get away with wearing over-the-knee-shoes with a mini dress.
Chunky Knits
Chunky knits are hot right now. The current trend is for turtlenecks, but if you can’t afford to splash out on a new sweater, dig out an old sweater from your closet and layer it over a maxi dress or skinny jeans. You can even try tucking a chunky piece of knitwear into a high-waist pencil skirt for a stylish office look.
Mini Skirts
Most designers had miniskirts in their fall collections this year. Miniskirts are a recurring fashion trend dating back to the 60s, but it is hard not to fall in love with them each time they come back into style. This fall, wear your trendy mini skirt with a loose fitting shirt or chunky sweater, and then accessorize it with some flat ankle boots or chunky shoes.
Looking Good in Plaid
Plaid is all the rage right now. Plaid fabrics have appeared in catwalk collections everywhere, so don’t be shy, wear your plaid shirts and skirts with pride. You don’t have to stick to one style of plaid – mix and match for a bang on-trend look.
Once you have your outfit sorted, invest in a long camel coat to keep the chill out on cool fall evenings. It’s the perfect look for informal and formal events.
