Neil Barrett presented his Spring Summer 2018 collection during the Milano Fashion Week. Inspired by the past, to invent the future, the new collection’s key reference is minimalism of the mid-1990s, re-examined and reimagined for the twenty-first century.
LATEST SPRING SUMMER 2018 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
The collection is founded on a wardrobe of essentials, perfected – pared back, reduced to their purist form. Idealised everyday attire for modern life. Clothes are based around uniforms, both military and urban: tailored suits, bomber jackets, jeans and t-shirts. Every shape and style is distilled, evolved, to create a heightened version of itself. For summer, layers are stripped-back and construction refined: linings are removed to create easy, lightweight pieces. Fabrics are airy – cotton, linen and nylon mixed with cupro to provide a luxuriant softness and tactile quality. Lightness is taken to a natural conclusion in the womenswear, with a focus on a distinctly feminine transparency. – from Neil Barrett
