Dean and Dan Caten presented their Pre-Fall 2018 collection for Dsquared2, inspired by New York’s famous clubs from the 70s and 80s. A hip-hop aesthetic of classic streetwear is reimagined through a luxury lens, featuring baggy shapes, volume, logo graphics and glitzy accessories made in high-end fabrics, with intricate details.
Channeling the vibe of New York’s famous clubs from the 70s and 80s, where your outfit got you through the velvet rope, by night Dsquared2’s Pre-Fall 2018 woman shimmies in a series of showstoppers. A sporty silver and white beaded stripe profiles athletic shapes of a tank dress, wide-legged pant and an evening jacket. High-shine fabrics rule: gold lamé, lurex lamé leopard spots and lurex jacquard camouflage are sharply cut into jackets with contrasting satin cuffs, mini tube dresses, skirts and pants. The shimmering fabrics are also found in Cuissardes boots. The men’s evening wardrobe features tuxedos with a twist: mixed with loose pants or zipped jackets with a silver and white sequined profile stripe, a fur embellished jacket or a coat cut from lurex camouflage. A textured glossy faux fur women’s chubby hooded jacket and vest are detailed with thermo-sealed zippers. Edging the disco queen into more glamorous hippy territory is her lineup of supple and sinuous black leather pieces, and her lean black dresses with plunging necklines. Broad rimmed black hats, booties and stiletto sandals are her sophisticated accessories, while his are square framed tinted eyewear and soft furry bucket hats. – from Dsquared2
