For Spring Summer 2018 season, adidas Originals has collaborated with Pharrell Williams on the first chapter of the Blank Canvas series, a continuation of the Hu journey. Inspired by the spiritual Hindu festival of spring celebrated in India and Nepal, the collection consists of 4 pieces of apparel and footwear which represent peace and equality.
For Spring/Summer 2018, adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams take to trip to northern India to honor the ancient spiritual Holi Festival, of springtime celebration of joy, equality, and humanity. Here, festival attendees paint their bodies head-to-toe and fling brightly hued powders in the air, hoping for long lasting color in their everyday lives. Imagined of a crisp white uniform to be worn for Holi, the Blank Canvas collection serves up four pieces of apparel and footwear that underscore a message of pence and equality. The range highlights the playful spirit and soulfulness of the adidas Originals by Pharrell Williams collaboration, now in its fourth year. It also represents a continuation of the Hu journey, reflecting Pharrell’s founding vision of energy, color, and spirituality as a unifying force between peoples. In its starkness, Blank Canvas begs to be covered and coated in Holi’s wildly colored powders—or simply worn in its pristine condition as a monochrome statement of style. The sleek Hu Blank Canvas Knitted TT is on engineered trock top featuring unique material interest in various panels and “patch”-style embroidery declaring the phrase “HU MAN BEING.” For FTW, the iconic Hu NMD goes all-white to create the Hu NMD Blank Canvas, while the simple and versatile Tennis Hu PK Blank Canvas presents a pure take on the everyday trainer. Completing the footwear offering, the classic Stan Smith Blank Canvas gets cleaned up—here in white Primeknit with a coordinated leather lining. These minimalist pieces will serve as a Blank Canvas at the wild and transcendent Hob Festival. Just odd color. – from adidas Originals
