Creative duo Mirko Fontana and Diego Marquez presented the Au Jour Le Jour Pre Fall 2018 Collection, characterized by a nomad attitude, recollecting memories from real and unreal travels, from past and present.
PRE-FALL 2018 WOMENSWEAR COLLECTIONS
Different places and cultures, not completely defined, and a melting pot of people and their own styles evoke a gipsy vibe, giving rise to an authentic representation of personal identity. The material research is wide, different fabrics are combined together in a harmonic patchwork: flannels, check woollen fabrics, silk and viscose fluid jacquards, corduroy and vintage-like froissé velvet and faux fur. Wool and cashmere knitwear comes as an interpretation of classic cardigans and jumpers, stripes are interrupted by solid colours, defining a geometric and masculine look but with a relaxed fit. Pullovers and sweatshirts have an incorporated scarf, whose design recalls men’s neckties. The silhouette is defined through layering, showing an organized accumulation of items. Coats and dresses are constructed with overlapping panels and layers in different contrasts of textures. Embroideries come in different styles and materials: crimson red flowers, also combined with crystals for the brooches, small fruits thread embroidered, a playful mix of multicolour sequins and hand stitched plexi drops. The colour palette is mostly warm: Burgundy, saffron, orange, powder pink and camel, tempered by forest green and royal blue. – from Au Jour Le Jour
