Discover AMI – Alexandre Mattiussi Spring Summer 2019 menswear collection presented on Thursday June 21st, during the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. Inspired by the green Normandy countryside, where the designer grew up, the collection mixes tailoring with relaxed silhouettes and sportswear. The models walked down the runway covered in tall grass wearing the fishing hats and oversize knit sweaters, chunky sandals and raincoats.
SPRING SUMMER 2019 MENSWEAR
An urge to get away. Escape from it all—just for a weekend—from the agitated rhythm of city life. A gang of friends, des AMIs, jump on the train. Destination countryside. A Françoise Hardy song plays in the background: C’est le temps de l’amour, le temps des copains, et de l’aventure… It’s the time for love, the time for friends, and the time for adventure, she sings. At the foot of a hill, they stop in a field where wheat stalks bathe in the last rays of sunlight. Glimmering air particles dance in the light, reflected in folds of supple and whisper-light parkas. Fabrics brush against weeds and wild grass. Silhouettes breathe, ample and aerated. The passing colors melt together in natural hues, harmonious with the evening. The girls form part of the pack, emerging in a sophisticated and fluid wardrobe: the next chapter of Menswear for Women. Listen for the distant noise of the last train running on its rails. For Paris is never very far. – from AMI
