This is a time of year full of great expectations, coming with the marathon of festive debauchery from overeating to over shopping it is followed by wholehearted resolutions to spend less and supersize more. When it comes to these almost obligatory resolutions we often end up being harsher to ourselves than to others. The inner guilt grows perhaps by the amount of carbs we consumed, and in like no other time we are more pron to blue moods and boiled up weaknesses. Therefore with DESIGN SCENE we decided to find inspiration in the creatives we featured both behind and front of the lens and breakthrough designers who managed to create impressive businesses on their own. Our editors also dish their own advice from our inner well-being to taking care of our body and skin in these post festive days.

In the main story of the issue, we celebrate the talented Sanne Vloet, our January 2019 cover star, who is already topping the most successful MODELS.com list with runway records. The top model also mastered the trade of creating social media empires, with millions of followers in addition to the magazine covers to die for under her belt. This time next to Sanne, we had the honor to work with another inspiring fashion star, also a true Dutch sensation, top model Patricia van der Vliet who graces the showstopping beauty supplement cover. Just as Vloet, she too is part of the elite top 50 list with her note worthy career.
