Hi Ruby, we are so glad to have you back in our magazine. What you’ve been up to lately?
Hi! I am currently up in Woodstock, upstate New York. Enjoying writing and being in nature, a rare luxury from always being in the city.
Take us back to the beginning. How did you become a model? What was your big break?
When I was 14 years old my sister had got booked on a magazine shoot and the other model cancelled last minute. The agency tried to find a replacement and asked about using me, I said yes and the rest goes on from there!
Did your sister Lily give you any modeling advice?
Lily gives me advice on life and in turn I use it towards work, she is extremely supportive of me and anything I want to pursue.
We read on your Instagram post that you signed up for a Digital film making class. Did u enjoy it?
I absolutely loved it. I had been talking about wanting to take a college course for a while and decided to finally just do it. I highly suggest taking a class or just a short course on something you’re interested in. The whole experience behind the camera was really great.
Are you interested in pursuing a career in the film making industry?
Who knows! I would love to keep making more films and work on directing.
You are also a musician. Tell us more about your music.
Yes! I have been making music for a while now. Performing music, to me it is just this amazing thing I get to do. It is just ingrained in there at this point. I love both making and listening to music. Sharing music. Seeing bands. All of it.
What is your favorite song released so far in 2019?
That is a hard one, really have no idea, there’s so many songs I enjoy right now. It is hard to single out!
If a movie was made about your life, what genre would it be, and who would play you?
Hmmm, perhaps it would be some kind of a romantic sci-fi thriller genre, staring Shelley Duvall circa 1980.
You are indeed 1980s Shelley Duvall! She was such a style icon, speaking of style how would you describe your very own style?
I try not to describe my own style, I have to say I feel strongly about this! [laughs]
