Designer Francesco Risso presented MARNI‘s Resort 2020 (R)evolution collection, that was inspired by connecting opposites – order influenced by seduction, and seduction made orderly, with the latest lookbook captured by fashion photographer Andrea Artemisio.
RESORT 2020 COLLECTIONS
“Uniforms get sinuous, armors get fluid. Field jackets are deconstructed by strategically placed buttoned openings that allow to remount them in unpredictable directions. Elasticated belts, as anatomical as they are defensive, cinch the waist of martial coats, robes and military shirts. Unbuttoned dresses mould to the body, angular draping is pasted onto crude dresses like ultra feminine memories of other times and silhouettes. Bathing suits function as impromptu bustiers.
The peaceful conflict of the demure and the militant carries on the camouflage prints that are in fact flower patterns. Jungles of eyed leaves swarm on petticoats. A luscious array of silks, nylons, sablès, ramiès, crepe de chines, plongé leathers. Brightly colored Trunk bags, military boots, raw-hemmed pumps accessorize the conflict. Beauty as a belligerent act.“
