Designer and entrepreneur Philipp Plein instead of a massive runway show has opted out of safety for a video lookbook presentation of his Spring Summer 2021 collection. Even Plein who is synonymous to massive parties and even grander runway shows has joined a slew of designers who decided to take no risks during the ongoing world pandemic.
While other designers this season have reflected through a Hitchcock movie marathon, or simply sat inside reminiscing of the outdoors Mr Plein contemplated in latin. “Tempora mutantur et nos mutamur in illis” is the introduction to his latest womenswear collection, depicting the Plein woman living her best life. Jet setting from a yacht to a helicopter on a vacation you can only dream of. The looks are a mix of sportswear and show stopping evening wear, including everything from total black to neon leopard. Mr Plein and his brand team have shared with the press:
Besides all the negativity and serious impact of the pandemic to the world, PHILIPP PLEIN continues to stay positive and to look into a bright and happy future. We are going to get through this because we are humans and we have dealt with a lot of difficult circumstances. This pandemic has united the human race, and when there is unity, nothing can stop you.
This season Plein’s design team has focused on a collection of twenty-one carefully planned out looks. Plein team adds:
PHILIPP PLEIN has always had a fascinating ability to innovate itself and surprise its clients. With this production the fashion house has again achieved its goal to deliver a remarkable and uncompromising experience in the world of fashion.
