For any Prada runway the showspace visual tells a story as much as the garments and sending through that narrative with the team are once again the talented creatives at OMA/AMO. The Spring Summer 2021 collection is encapsulated in a world of it’s own, bordered with endless yellow draping it is bringing us into this personal and intimate space.
Prada and OMA/AMO share:
Duality and plurality has always been inherent in the language of Prada: juxtaposing different elements, approaches and disciplines to find a paradoxical harmony in dichotomy. Technology appears as chandeliers of monitors and cameras – decoration and use combined – animated in a dynamic ballet with figures that pass through.
Just as the design of the showspace and garments music is as important part of any Prada presentation. This time enlisted to shaped the beats to the first Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons collection is Plastikman, British-Canadian electronic musician Richie Hawtin.
The screens are at the same time includes the names of every woman modelling in the show. Miuccia and Raf went for a fresh start this time, with an entirely new cast. This was the first runway for each of the girls cast to walk a show. This marks a fresh start for them just as for Miuccia and Prada herself. Prada team adds:
Examining a dialogue between mankind and machine, the notion of instinct and logic
emerges: diametric opposites, the two nevertheless form a foundational dialogue to creativity. Both are quintessentially Prada – a consideration of the world, and a natural
reaction to that stimulus. Another paradoxical dialogue, reflecting reality.
