Kim Jones has collaborated with French director Thomas Vanz on Dior Men’s Fall 2021 scenography, inspired by cosmos. The scenography incudes 170m2 of LED screens, as well as the 400m2 of Dibond flooring.

“I tried to represent the surface of a sun,” says French director Thomas Vanz, who in this video presents his immersive set for the Fall 2021 Dior men’s show by Kim Jones.
Inspired by Vanz’s deep-rooted interest in astrophysics and the mystery of the cosmos, the scenography is mimicking the volutes that can be found in nebulae or supernovas, he created the impression of being in space.
Hypercolored, hyperreal. Showcasing a conversation between heritage and technology, investigating the space where virtual and reality meet. For the fall 2021 collection, dior men’s artistic director kim jones fuses tradition with digital innovation, an ideology echoed in the presentation of the collection – a show staged purely virtually, to be experienced globally – and also in the designs themselves. It mirrors the evolution of a couture house in the 21st century – its synchronicity between the realities of fashion today, the dream of history, and the optimistic possibilities of tomorrow. – from Dior.
