Luxury house LOUIS VUITTON presented their 2021 Capucines leather goods campaign featuring French actress and the brand’s ambassador Léa Seydoux lensed by the legendary fashion photographer Steven Meisel. In charge of styling was Marie-Amélie Sauvé, with art direction from brand’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. The campaign explores an intimate relationship between a woman and her bag, and captures the timeless elegance of the Capucines bag.
The campaign sees French actor and House ambassador embody the iconic bag in a pure and stripped back setting, embracing the Capucines MM in black Taurillon leather.
The Capucines represents the essence of French savoir-faire. I’m very honoured to be the Capucines ambassador as it’s a handbag I love and wear all the time – Léa Seydoux
The inspiration for the name of the iconic Capucines bag, comes from the Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, the address where Louis Vuitton opened his first store in 1854. The bag embodies the House’s art of leather craftmanship and it’s values of creativity, blending the tradition with innovation.

“Thoughtfully designed, the bag contains a multitude of crafted elements assembled in hundreds of steps and brings together the House’s unparalleled traditional savoir-faire. The unique leathers used for Capucines bags are soft and rich and only the most noble are selected. It is not simply a timeless handbag – it is a life-long companion. A feat of skill, ingenuity, and absolute craft, the Capucines is a modern classic.” – from LOUIS VUITTON
