Continuing its highly successful collaboration series, Supreme returns for a Fall 2021 capsule collection with JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS MAN. Known for his innovative approach to construction and shape, as well as his use of unexpected materials, Japanese designer Junya Watanabe is on of the most sought after fashion collaborators.

Inspired by JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS MAN’s archives, the collection consists of a Schott® Leather Peacoat; GORE-TEX Denim Parka and Pant; Patchwork Puffy Jacket, Cargo Pant and Backpack; Work Jacket and Pant; Sweater; L/S Shirt; S/S Top; two Hooded Sweatshirts and Sweatpant; two T-Shirts; 5-Panel; Beanie and Keychain.

Watanabe is widely regarded for his innovative approach to construction and shape across an unexpected range of materials. Watanabe often experiments with synthetic and industrial textiles. His Fall/Winter 2016 collections featured solar powered trench coats and intricately pleated geometric garments fashioned from polyurethane-bonded fabrics used in car interiors. Yet he also re-imagines every-day staples – leather jackets, striped sailor shirts, denim chore coats and army surplus – with distinctive tailoring. His signature patchworking is both elegant and utilitarian, familiar and forward-thinking.

Fashion designer Junya Watanabe was born in 1961 in Fukushima, Japan. He attended Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo and began a patternmaking apprenticeship at Comme des Garçons shortly after graduating in 1984. Watanabe went on to design tricot COMME des GARÇONS before debuting his eponymous collection in 1992.

Supreme x JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS MAN collection will be available from November 4th.
