The end of year is fastly approaching, and before the Milano Fashion Week Men’s begins and brings us more collections too look at, DSCENE team rounds up the best of the Pre-Fall 2022 Womenswear and Menswear Collections. Giving that the corona virus pandemic is still the main topic, designers opted mostly for fun, comfortable and multifunctional pieces, providing the customers with the perfect work from home meets party outfits.
GIVENCHY
French fashion house Givenchy introduced the Pre-Fall 2022 Collection mixing everyday reality and the precision, elegance and extravagance of the couture tradition. Under the helm of Matthew M. Williams, the brand produced a modern set of outfits with the influence of brand’s tailoring heritage and archetypes. Williams combines sharp tailoring with relaxed, sportswear-imbued silhouettes, and his signature hardware, which gives the collection a polished yet casual look.
DEL CORE
A newcomer to the fashion world, Daniel De Core, the founder of DEL CORE, brings classical beauty and love for nature into his designs. It is no different with the Pre-Fall 2022 Collection, the looks bring nature into life with floral patterns and shapes, mushroom prints and more. The collection mixes the everyday pieces with couture, perfect for evening ocassions.
CHRISTOPHER JOHN ROGERS
Looking for a fun and colorful outfit? Well, you can always count on Christopher John Rogers. American designer presented the colorful Pre-Fall 2022 Collection combining the reimagined staples of American sportswear with oversaturated colors and heavily detailed prints. This was a very personal collection for Rogers, because it’s entirely made of pieces he would wear every day.
BALENCIAGA
Demna goes back to the 90s for the Pre-Fall 2022 Balenciaga Womenswear and Menswear Collection. The Lost Tape Collection symbolically fills the gap from Balenciaga’s forgotten years. Demna plays with the proportions, creating new silhouettes and evolving others. The collection gives a post-grungy raver vibe, which we absolutely love! In the years when we must pay attention to sustainability, Balenciaga brings 89.6% certified sustainable plain and printed ready-to-wear fabrics as well as pieces of upcycled leather used in garments and accessories.
THOM BROWNE
The most personal collection from Thom Browne comes for the Pre-Fall 2022. The designer opened up the doors of his home for us, well not literaly, but the entire collection is inspired by his and partner Andrew Bolton’s home. The refreshing jade looks, inspired by Browne’s bedroom’s hand-painted floral wallpaper, add a pop of color to brand’s signature DNA of grey skirts, heavy tweeds, and dresses.
THE ROW
If there is someone who can do efortless chic, it’s the Olsen twins. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen presented The Row Pre-Fall 2022 Collection with a few new additions which we adore. They finally stepped out of their monochromatic looks and added a bit of lilac, acqua and red. One of the biggest advantages of this collection are the multifuncional looks – jackets worn backwards, reversible tote bags, inside-out dresses.
VERSACE
It seems like Donatella Versace is ready for the party season and the pandemic to be over, so we can all go back to enjoying the evening ocassions. The Pre-Fall 2022 Versace Collection brings the 2000s style and fearless attitude. The menswear and womenswear looks are filled with colors and sexy looks. From daring black leather suits, to head-to-toe printed dresses and the influencer favorite Medusa Aevitas platform pumps, be sure that you will turn heads in any of the looks from this season.
CHANEL
For the Pre-Fall 2022 Collection CHANEL took us to the Le19M, brand’s newly opened workshop of the maison’s artisans. Virginie Viard pays tribute to traditional craftsmanship. The collection features everything you need to complete a perfect outfit, from tweed and embroidery to two-tone shoes, costume jewellery, pleats, jewelled buttons, hats and camellias.
BALMAIN
Olivier Rousteing had a diffrent vision for the Pre-Fall 2022 Balmain collection. He went back to his beginnings in the designer world, working with Ed Filipowski, and the way grunge influenced people at that time. This collection is filled with scattered and torn pieces, houndstooth prints, deconstructed silhouettes. The looks perfectly mix the past and the future.
TOD’S
For the Pre-Fall 2022 Tod’s Menswear and Womenswear Collection, Walter Chiapponi introduced mainly outerwear pieces in different textures and visual contrasts. The modern and casual pieces mix the brand’s heritage with Italian lifestyle. Oversized knitwear, deep blue and washed denim, super washed cottons bring the sense of cooolness to this collection. Surely the centerpieces of the collection are accessories like half-moon bags with T Timeless, knee-high boots in the matching leather like coats, chunky heels.
SALVATORE FERRAGAMO
Having no creative director for this season, Salvatore Ferragamo in house team did a pretty amazing job with the Pre-Fall 2022 Collection. The menswear and womenswear collection is inspired by brand’s staples. Nevertheless accessory wise footwear and handbags remain the king at the Ferragamo house, with some of the instantly recognizable styles getting a new season makeover.
