Discover ROKH Fall Winter 2022.23 collection that explores confident and carefree attitude, presented on March 5th, during the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. The Hometown Hero collection was inspired by overwhelming confidence and individuality of women who crossed the designer’s path, his mother, sister, high school friends, university teachers, and work colleagues. The designer pays tribute to women who wear sneakers for every occasion. The brand reimagined running shoes, their pads and closures patched together like a bit of collage art, to ground every look in the collection.
FALL WINTER 2022.23 COLLECTIONS
As always, the working woman comes to the fore in our signature sharp tailored jackets and skirts, this time covered in a number of belted straps that give a twist to masculine suiting. For a bit of eccentricity, we continued to pair unfamiliar elements together—see the classic check fabric coat with a high knit collar, covered in hardware buckles and trimmed with electric red feathers. As for our seasonal textile development, we worked with a few full floral looks that are not print, but full jacquard and as richly textured as a Victorian carpet bag.
There are a few waterproof Windbreakers in the mix, including a colorblocked number worn over a houndstooth skirt suit with sneakers—another nod to the modern working woman. The jacket unzips at the waist to create a neat cropped effect. The graphics in this collection are little riffs on hometown embellishments: college emblems, varsity letters and patches, which look like prints but have all been individually embroidered. It’s those artisanal details blended with youthful energy that I love: A couture corset gown, covered in individually hand-sewn crystals, worn with patchwork sneakers and a ball cap. That confident, carefree attitude is truly beautiful – Rok Hwang, Rokh
