Jordan Brand is bringing back lots of new favorite releases this year, from the Air Jordan3 ‘Fire Red’ to the Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago. ‘ Along with these iconic colorways, we can expect a series of fresh yet familiar releases, such as the appropriately named and highly anticipated Air Jordan 1 “Heritage.”
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Heritage’ takes the classic Chicago hue and flips it for a striking, one-of-a-kind design. The sneaker features a smooth leather upper in white and University Red, black leather collars, and red Swooshes. The design is completed with a black and red woven Nike tongue branding and an Air sole at the base. The color blocking on the shoe is similar to the 1985 sample that inspired the Travis Scott x fragment Design x Air Jordan 1.
University Red, Black, and White are easily recognizable as Air Jordan colors, but they have never been paired in this way before. This OG design is immersed in the Jordan Brand legacy, featuring a White midsole and White leather base with University Red and Black tumbled leather. This basic assortment of traditional colors bursts in championship harmony on a timeless shape like the Air Jordan 1. Air Jordan History
Michael Jordan has been at the forefront of basketball culture since his game-winning shot that sent North Carolina to championship triumph. The story of the first Air Jordan 1s is an interesting one. Designed by Peter Moore, The Air Jordan 1 was launched in 1985. Jordan first wore the sneakers on November 17, 1984, in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The shoes garnered attention not only because of their distinctive design, but also because they violated league uniform rules – players were required to wear shoes that matched their jerseys and the shoes worn by their teammates, and they had to be 51 percent white. Michael Jordan was fined $5,000 by the NBA for wearing the Jordans on their debut in 1984. Furthermore, in February 1985, the league sent an infamous letter to Nike saying that the black and red sneakers were prohibited. Jordan’s penalties were paid for by the brand, making for the ideal marketing campaign and the rest is history.
The silhouette was available in a range of colorways as well as a few different variations. Following Jordan’s retirement from basketball in 1994, the Jordan 1 launched the retro era following its initial run in the 1980s.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Heritage’ Design
The ‘Heritage, ‘ a spin on past classics such as the aforementioned ‘Chicago, ‘ employs Bulls colors in a way that is distinct from its influences. The ‘University Red’ instance across the toe has been demoted to the background, having been moved from the toe cap to the toe box. Behind the Swoosh, the black finish has been replaced with a stronger hue that matches the ankle flaps and heel counter. Elsewhere, the dark neutral appears to designate the collar and laces, while white makes up the rest of the external structure.
