Fashion brand J-E-CAI presented their Spring Summer 2023 Womenswear Collection that was built on a modular system formed of bases and components connected through fastening mechanisms. The system offers a sustainable solution to seasonless fashion, allowing pieces from new collection to mix-and-match with looks from previous collections. Through a systematic approach of 1 system, 10 base layers, 100 components and 1000 extra components, J E Cai fosters experimentation, rebellion, and individual expression, through the foundation provided by intellectual, formulaic design. Fashion photographer Laurence Ellis captured the lookbook featuring styling from Anders Solvsten Thomsen at Lalaland Artists, assisted by Melina Frangos. Set design is work of Justin Stevens Craft Design Studio, with casting direction from Affa Osman at CLM, and production by Rachel Xie. In charge of beauty were hair stylist Ali Pirzadeh, and makeup artist Bea Sweet, both represented by CLM.
SPRING SUMMER 2023 COLLECTIONS

“The 2022-9 Collection, released for Spring/Summer 23, further develops on the foundation of the Algorithmic Modular System (AMS), focussing on the establishment of signature components. Through filtering non-essential aspects of the AMS such as colour options, this season sees further development of the fundamental concepts which underpin the wider J E Cai brand, optimising and expanding the user experience. Where the AMS previously offered a large uniform-inspired aesthetic, the introduction of draping and soft elements come to the fore, balancing this and opening up new horizons for user experimentation and utility.” – from J-E-Cai
