Fashion brand STELLA MCCARTNEY presented its Spring Summer 2023 Womenswear Collection, that was inspired by the work of legendary Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara and its titled after his slogan Change The History. The collection fuses fashion and art, and the nostalgic with the iconic. Minimalistic pieces that feature strong silhouettes, reimagine the 90s and 2000s styles, and reinterpret the brand codes. The brand’s iconic palette of greys, camels and black is energized with bright touches of limoncello, washed-out neon green, cerulean blues, hibiscus pink and light orchid. The Spring Summer 2023 collection is made with 93% conscious materials, its Stella McCartney’s most responsible to date. It includes the luxury industry’s first-ever garment (a t-shirt) made from regenerative cotton.
SPRING SUMMER 2023 COLLECTIONS
“Light pieces cut from soft fabrics clash the casual with the formal. Relaxed Savile Row tailoring in a new Ecovero viscose light woven canvas is slashed into bias-cut skirt suits. Lingerie lace has hints of seduction, with body chain jewellery of chains and diamanté crystals mysteriously peeking from under jackets – all sitting with a sexy barely there fishnet stocking shoe. Moving to day-long evening glamour, metallic silver crystals are minimal in classic t-shirt dresses with a sculptural cape sleeve, while lean tracksuit tailoring is close to the body. Organic cotton denim is deconstructed and elevated next to Alter Mat, with vegan alternatives to leather making a bold statement for animal rights.” shares Stella McCartney Team

Recycled nylon scuba utility t-shirts, leggings and bodysuits in technical organic cotton sit next to forest-friendly viscose corseted dresses, shirts and all-in-ones. Tailoring and cargo shorts progress to limoncello vests and trousers with a surf girl attitude, styled with Stella 100 heels crafted from vegan materials and lead-free crystal straps. Iconic Stella pieces become a canvas for Yoshitomo Nara’s illustrations of big-eyed girls, sinister children in animal costumes and activist slogans. These include stretchy crinkle knit dresses, jersey scuba t-shirts and dresses with bias-cut hems.” – from Stella McCartney
