Pharrell Williams‘ digital-first auction house and content platform JOOPITER held their first auction yesterday, titled Son of a Pharaoh, with a total of $5.25 million in sales, surpassing the sales high estimate of approximately $3.2 million. Announced in late September, the auction features an unprecedented collection of personal cultural artifacts from across Williams’ career, nearly all one-of-one, custom, and created with input from Williams. The sale was led by the Jacob & Co. N.E.R.D. Character Pendant Chain, colloquially known as one of the most iconic custom chains in music history, which sold for an extraordinary $2.184 million and over 9x its high estimate.

The second highest-selling lot was the Jacob & Co. N.E.R.D Brain Chain in white gold, which exponentially exceeded estimates, reaching $725,000 at 8x its high estimate. A similar yellow gold version reached $150,000, more than doubling its high estimate. The Jacob & Co 32 Gemstone necklace, featuring diamonds, rubies and emeralds of various sizes and cuts set in 18K yellow gold, sold for $250,000. The luxury watch category achieved 100% sell-through, with four rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks all selling in the six-figures. The highest-selling was the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Dynamograph Unique Piece Titanium Case + Carbon Mainplate which reached a sale of $218,750. – from Joopiter
