Glenn Martens‘ brand Y/Project and Jean Paul Gaultier reunite for a second collaboration just a year after Glenn Martens was named the designer’s single-season creative director, maintaining the brands’ obsession with “Trompe l’oeil” patterns. Yet this time, by experimenting with proportions, printing, and positioning, the partnership reflects Martens’ characteristic study of the illusion of clothing. Mesh dresses and tank tops are layered with 2D-printed knitwear, while maxi and mini skirts are given more texture by the addition of patterned hot pants. The signature silhouettes of Jean Paul Gaultier are further enhanced with cut-outs, layering, and two-tone color schemes elsewhere. The campaign starring Gia Bab is captured by fashion photographer Thomas Cristiani, with creative direction by Florence Te?tier, styling by Georgia Pendlebury, hair by Olivier Schawalder, makeup by Isamaya Ffrench and nails by Cam Tran.
