Last year, the award-winning hospitality group, Salt Hotels, has opened The Aster, an adults-only members’ club and hotel, a new star of The Hollywood Walk of Fame. The next generation of private members’ clubs, it is the urban version of country clubs in Los Angeles combined with the sophistication of the world’s best luxury boutique hotels.
HOTELS
In addition to its 35 expansive all-suite bedrooms and a rooftop restaurant, The Aster offers several unique amenities including a screening room, pool, cabaret room, lounges, hair salon, a recording studio and much more. The Salt Hotels Co-Founders David Bowd & Kevin O’Shea and their team, made sure that anyone who wishes to join is welcome. The hotel’s wide ranging programming includes educational talks, master classes, screenings, DJ sets, musical shows and unique performances.
Location
Situated in the midst of Hollywood, on the Vine Street and Hollywood Boulevard intersection, the impressive six-story building offers the unobstructed views of the Capitol Records building and Hollywood sign.
Inspiration
The native Aster flower, which blooms across Los Angeles, served as an inspiration for the name. The hotel serves as a destination to activate minds and bodies, where individuals can work, play, and stay, surrounded by robust programming in the heart of Hollywood. At The Aster, the membership is not exclusive only to creatives, but it’s envisioned as a melting pot of personalities from different backgrounds and industries.
Design
Inspired by the charm of the Golden Age of Hollywood, the hotel is designed to feel personal, curious, and entertaining – designed for the curious, inspired by the creators, and curated by the tastemakers of Los Angeles and beyond. ?he relaxed Californian style is combined with a glamour and vibrancy of Hollywood, providing the feeling of escapism and imagination.
The design is inspired by California, we want to give our members and guests an authentic sense of place whilst offering a calm oasis in the center of Hollywood to socialize and conduct business. Our sweeping rooftop is inspired by the lemon groves that once dotted the landscape before the development of Hollywood, an agrarian escape from the hustle and bustle of LA.
– says co-founder Kevin O’Shea.
Suites
The Aster offers 35 expansive all-suite bedrooms on the third and fourth floor, starting from 750 sq. ft. They are not available exclusively to members, and each hotel guest is treated as a temporary member with access to all amenities and programming during the stay. With old-Hollywood-inspired interior decor, each of the suites feature separate seating and dining areas with luxurious details such as white oak tables, a three-way dressing mirror, hand-glazed ceramic lamps and a hyper-local minibar.

Dining
Opened in September 2022, under the direction of the award-winning celebrity Chef Marcel Vigneron, Lemon Grove restaurant is inspired by the local gastronomy of Los Angeles. The menu that pays homage to the agricultural traditions of the city, offering a seasonal menu with locally-sourced ingredients.
Lemon Grove draws its inspiration not only from the soil where these lemon groves grew, but the concrete and graffiti that now surrounds the space, the oceans that hug our beautiful beaches, and even the smog-filled skies. All of these elements are used as culinary muses for our cuisine.
– said Chef Marcel Vigneron.
To offer a full experience, the cocktail program at Lemon Grove is built to complement the menu and subsequently adjusted by season, whilst the wine list has been selected from local and all-natural producers. It is overseen by General Manager, Tyler St. Pierre
The Aster is featured in DSCENE March 2023 cover story featuring the music superstar LUKE HEMMINGS.
