Designer Lucas Ossendrijver unveiled his second THEORY PROJECT capsule collection that explores New York’s dynamic energy. The Spring 2023 collection features both menswear and womenswear, and brings looks designed for contemporary life. It captures the city’s spirit and movement with fluid fabrics, utilitarian details, and kinetic prints. Color palette includes muted grays, bubbly amber, earthy shades of green, and pops of blue, violet, and ruby red. For the season Ossendrijver relaxed the stiffness of classic tailoring and animated the foundational silhouettes for which Theory is known. The pieces can be layered together for a maximalist effect, or paired with Theory essentials for a more subtle statement. Fashion photographer David Sims captured the campaign.
There’s a fantasy in design, but ultimately it needs to be functional and purposeful. This collection was designed with a laser focus on the wearer and their lifestyle. Even though Theory Project is a small capsule, it has to serve everybody. That’s why you have options. – Lucas Ossendrijver
