MSCHF the creator of anything you don’t really need but would like to buy if you had money to burn, is back with another epic crowd pleaser. The Louis Vuitton Microscopic Handbag specially created for Pharrell Williams‘ upcoming auction.
“Smaller than a grain of sea salt and narrow enough to pass through the eye of a needle, this is a purse so small you’ll need a microscope to see it. There are big handbags, normal handbags, and small handbags, but this is the final word in bag miniaturization. As a once-functional object like a handbag becomes smaller and smaller its object status becomes steadily more abstracted until it is purely a brand signifier,” shared MSCHF
During fashion week in Paris next week, their newest piece of art will be sold at an auction. The brand is ready to sell world’s first Microscopic bag, which is a tiny version of Louis Vuitton’s Onthego tote. The bag is smaller than a grain of sea salt and is only 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers wide. It is thin enough to fit through the eye of a needle. When you look closely, you can see the Louis Vuitton logo and transparent handles.? ?

MSCHF is an art and media business that was started in 2018. It is known for making viral and controversial products and projects that often spark public discussion and get a lot of media attention. By experimenting with art, business, and technology, MSCHF hopes to create unique and thought-provoking experiences that make us question common knowledge and things we tend to take for granted in our consumerist ways of life. Through its work, MSCHF tries to shake up the way things are and get people to think more critically about the world around them. They do most of their business on their website and put out a new “product” or “drop” every two weeks.

The Microscopic Handbag will be on show in Paris from June 20 to 24 and will be sold as part of the “Just Phriends” sale by JOOPITER. From June 19–27, people from all over the world will be able to bid on the micro handbag.
