Samuel Ross has been appointed as Beats’ first ever Principal Design Consultant. And even if you aren’t familiar with Dr. Samuel Ross’s work, his body of work is enough to make its point clear. He is the ideal candidate for a position with a brand that requires not just an authoritative industrial design point of view but also a trendy cultural cachet. Ross, who worked with companies like Nike and has partnered even with companies such as the iconic fragrance manufacturer Acqua di Parma.

It should come as no surprise that Apple Beats, a subsidiary of Apple, will go through some sort of transition at the same time as we are witnessing a significant redesign of Apple goods. It may be said that Ross is entering Beats in the role of something of an architect in order to plot a new course for the headphone brand. Samuel Ross intends to utilize his position to present Beats as a competent alternative to Apple from within Apple. This will be done by using his job.
“We are excited to have a visionary like Samuel Ross on board as Beats navigates a new era, Beats has remained a staple in culture largely due to how we mix technology and design, and this partnership is the next step in revitalizing that experience for our customers,” added Chris Thorne, Beats’ chief marketing officer.
As the Principal Design Consultant at Beats, Ross is tasked with assisting Beats engineering in the process of developing industrial design strategy. This is one of Ross’ primary responsibilities.
