The creative twin designers of the KNT, Mariano and Walter De Matteis unveiled the brand’s Spring Summer 2024 collection, that take us on a thrilling journey from Procida to the western sea. The collection presents a concise exploration that harmonizes traditional and modern aesthetics, appealing to the discerning, cosmopolitan man who exemplifies a refined sense of new elegance while appreciating the artistry of craftsmanship.
SPRING SUMMER 2024 COLLECTIONS
The collection is inspired by the Mediterranean hues of the Gulf of Naples and exudes a blend of classical elements and modern concepts. It cleverly deconstructs traditional principles, infusing them with a modern flair that shows the elegance only people with deep-rooted skill can achieve. As a result, the family’s time-honored history of meticulous tailoring and an emphasis on excellent fabrics has resulted in a harmonious balance between formal and informal clothes.
We symbolically dedicate this collection to the island of Procida, which has inspired us since we were children and used to arrive there by boat, stopping off to take a swim in its crystal-clear waters, tinged with the multi-coloured reflections of its little houses. It represents our culture, our origins and the zest for life that sets us apart. – Mariano De Matteis.
Meticulous attention is given to tailoring intricacies, with a subtle reinterpretation of fits to offer a softer and more relaxed aesthetic. Elongated jackets with nonchalant, narrow lapels take center stage in the collection’s fluid and unstructured outfits. The new ‘WD’ model, which features a traditional front, broader legs, and an adjustable back, joins the iconic drawstring waist trousers.
KNT introduces a collection of clothing appropriate for hot summer evenings, paying homage to the laid-back allure of California coolness. Dinner jackets made of lightweight cool wool have subtle tonal patterns, while double-breasted and single-breasted jackets with classic lapels and covered buttons are made of grosgrain silk and have notched accents. These subtle components leave a lasting impression.
While coming up with this collection, we also thought about Los Angeles, an iconic location for a relaxed, contemporary lifestyle. This collection is imagined for a man like us: curious, a traveller, committed to the important things but who loves freedom. He won’t turn his back on streetwear style clothing and rediscovers the beauty of the suit and the pleasure of wearing it. – Walter De Matteis.
The KNT aesthetic incorporates sportswear, integrating it seamlessly into a laid-back and effortlessly natural concept. Oversized sweatshirts in gauzed cotton, trench coats, bomber jackets, and jersey jackets made of crisp ripstop nylon or washed cotton with a velvety feel all have a place in this fusion. The iconic oversized bomber jacket with cargo-inspired pockets, the crisp cotton poplin drawstring shirt, and the versatile puffer jacket, an emblematic piece that effortlessly bridges the gap between formal and casual attire, available with or without a hood and accented by contrasting piping, are all noteworthy items. These can be layered over suits or worn with colorful sweatshirts to create a colorful combination.
Denim trousers get three new slim-fit models: the carrot, the multi-pocket, and the skinny fit. The choice of materials exemplifies sophistication and minimalism, employing traditional and increasingly natural looms. Cool wool, cotton, and silk are skilfully used in short- and long-sleeved shirts, pants, and ultra-light knits with a velvety touch when paired with wool.
