Fashion house Theory showcased its Spring Summer 2024 Collection with a fashion show on September 9th, during the ongoing New York Fashion Week. The collection reintroduces the charm of the quintessential uniform, blending both the masculine and feminine elements with an air of modern sophistication. It seeks to enhance the individual, offering both a sense of pragmatic elegance and sensual appeal. With elements that simplify the daily ritual of dressing up, it promises to instill confidence in the wearer.
The selection features an exciting contrast in materials, with traditional men’s wool tailoring fabrics harmoniously meeting linen tweed, metallic silk twill, and crepe. The color palette transitions smoothly from rich charcoal mélange and navy to lighter shades of straw and ivory, interspersed with the sparkle of clear sequins.
Jeffrey Kalinsky, the mind behind the Theory Spring Summer 2024 collection, emphasized pieces that are both classic and indispensable, bringing together the perfect t-shirt, button-down shirt, polo, and pencil skirt to craft new wardrobe propositions. One of the highlights of the collection is the tan basket-weave linen pieces including the cropped polo shirt paired with a gracefully flowing A-line midi-length skirt, dubbed as the “ball skirt”, and a distinct shift dress designed to swirl around the wearer, offering a hint of allure with its movement.
Among the models who walked the show were supermodels Alek Wek, Jessica Stam, and Sasha Pivovarova. Final look, worn by Pivovarova, featured cropped button-down paired with cropped pleated trousers, all harmoniously layered underneath a gleaming silver silk mid-length car coat. This look, captures the ’90s minimalism, and is the epitome of chic.
happy to see sasha pivovarova but not sure how anybody decides these simple looks need a runway collection? why theory ?
