The Dominican Republic is gearing up to host the first-ever Latin American Fashion Awards, an event celebrating the very best of Latin American talent in the world of fashion and culture. Founded by the esteemed Latin American fashion entrepreneurs, Constanza Etro and Silvia Argüello, this event promises an unforgettable experience for attendees and true celebration of Latin talent.
Constanza Etro is known as one of the most influential women on Italian fashion scene by Forbes Italia in 2020, she has worked tirelessly in promoting young talent, sustainability, and women empowerment within the fashion and cinema realm. Joined by Silvia Argüello who is a perfect blend of art and fashion, Silvia Argüello’s journey is marked by her deep-rooted desire to uplift and empower women in Latin America. With over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, Argüello has worked with iconic designers and has received multiple awards for her contribution to the industry.
With the global superstar, J Balvin, already awarded the “Latin Fashion Icon of the Year,” the audience can expect a sensational show that promises to showcase the best of region’s rich culture and vibrancy. The iconic landmark Altos de Chavón Amphitheatre in the Dominican Republic is chosen as the backdrop for the 1st Latin American Fashion Awards ceremony, set to take place on November 4th.

Leslie Grace, the acclaimed actress and singer, will lead the event, unveiling the winners across 14 Award Categories.
The Latin American Fashion Awards is joined by a renowned international jury, with designer Haider Ackermann at the helm. The jury boasts iconic personalities including Steven Kolb of CFDA, Carlo Capasa of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Nina Garcia of ELLE USA, Karla Martinez de Salas from Vogue Mexico and Latin America, and many more.
Out of an overwhelming 1,500 applications from over 23 countries, the jury has shortlisted a group of promising emerging talents. These include fashion influencers such as Camila Coutinho and Marina Testino, designers such as Raúl Lopez and Johanna Ortiz, and the fashion model, Hiandra Martinez, to name a few.
In a nod to the region’s heritage, the Latin American Fashion Awards has entrusted Studio Lenca, a contemporary artist from El Salvador, to design the event’s trophy. The renowned artist is currently collaborating at the celebrated TKE Studios in London, managed by Tracey Emin. The Latin American Fashion Awards is scheduled from November 2nd to 5th, 2023, with activities hosted at the luxurious Casa de Campo and Puntacana Resort & Club in the Dominican Republic. The opening night is set for November 2nd at the private Villa of the legendary designer, Oscar de la Renta.
