Ratajkowski: The [news] that I was splitting from my ex had just gone public, And I was walking to meet him and it was an extremely emotional experience and so personal. And I was being papped and I just didn’t even register it. I was thinking about how absolutely insane that is – that I’ll remember what I was wearing for the rest of my life. I was wearing a red dress. And that there’s photos of that on the internet that nobody even has the context for. But I do.
Ratajkowski: I think I’ve basically been photographed every day of my life. Because even if I wasn’t getting paparazzi’d, I work so much as a model. Being documented that much is just a bizarre thing.
Ratajkowski: I think that women now, there are so many digital images of them that are shared without their permission and it is completely violating. So I actually don’t think it’s specific to models at all. I mean, how many stories do you know about a high school girl, a picture circulating the internet?
Ratajkowski: The truth is that the reason that I was even able to publish my book and write about the things that I did was because I have 30 million followers from basically sexualising myself. So it is important to realise that there is a level that you can gain as a woman by playing that game and hustling the system.
