Luxury house Gucci unveils Ancora Notte, the inaugural eveningwear collection by Creative Director Sabato De Sarno. Following the footsteps of Gucci Ancora, the defining collection for daytime elegance, Ancora Notte emerges as a celebration of nocturnal life, woven with joy and humanity.
The collection revisits Gucci’s heritage through modern craftsmanship, with an exploration into the archives inspiring intricate embroideries akin to those found on 1950s minaudière bags. The revival of micro shorts juxtaposes with fluid crepe dresses, a nod to the quintessential ’90s finesse. The array of embellished minidresses and coats is further enhanced by delicate lace and beaded fringes, which dance on the silhouettes of sweeping gowns. Cady dresses with bowed shirt necklines question the divide between day and evening wear, suggesting that the transition is merely a matter of styling. In this collection, the boundaries between evening and night blur, encouraging a liberated expression of self through fashion.
The Gucci Ancora Notte Collection made its debut at the 2023 LACMA Art+Film Gala, worn by exceptional ensemble featuring emerging talents such as Jiahui Zhang, Fadia Ghaab, Nyajuok Gatdet, Violet Hume, Heather Strongarm, Camilla Orner, Agel Akol, and Sam Case, who all made their debut on the Gucci Ancora runway, as well as established icons such as Mariacarla Boscono, Vittoria Ceretti, Kirsty Hume, and Abbey Lee.
