This season, adidas Originals takes a deep dive into its heritage to revive its 2000 Running collection. The collection is a homage to the turn of the millennium, featuring one-to-one remakes of some of the era’s well known running silhouettes, alongside a new addition. Among the standout pieces, the Ozmillen sneaker emerges as a brand new silhouette, drawing heavy inspiration from the Ozweego. This new design shows off the distinctive 2000s aesthetic with its metallic overlays and mesh uppers, set against a two-tone color palette. However, it’s the integration of modern-day Adiplus cushioning technology that makes the Ozmillen a contemporary shoe.
The 2000 Running collection is updated by the inclusion of the Response CL and the adiStar Cushion. The Response CL pays homage to the brand’s experimental archives with its ventilating mesh segments and EVA cushioned midsole, wrapped in a raw, two-tone color scheme. On the other hand, the adiStar Cushion’s futuristic look, characterized by a breathable mesh upper and reflective details, is complemented by the comfort of Adiprene cushioning.
To mark the launch of this collection, adidas Originals has unveiled the “Two Thousand Stories” campaign, a fusion of past and present narratives.. This campaign brings together two era-defining creatives, British photographer Ewan Spencer, known for his work in the late 90s and early 2000s, and contemporary image maker Sophie Jones, to tell the story of adidas through a cross-generational lens. Their collaboration results in a compelling visual conversation that focuses on the fusion of two eras, two photographers, and two generations, all within one campaign, scheduled for release on January 22nd.
