The Andersson Bell AW24 collection, titled “Air House,” presents Korean history and modern fashion sensibilities at the Milan Fashion Week. Paying tribute to Ki-Ok Kwon, one of South Korea’s first female pilots, the collection infuses Air Force aesthetics with a touch of romance.
The runway show features a colossal inflatable art installation by Byungchan Lee, adding an artistic dimension to the fashion experience. This season, Andersson Bell, working with renowned stylist Robbie Spencer for the second time, challenges traditional fashion norms by combining functional military elements with romantic and classic silhouettes. The result is a collection that balances utility and elegance.
For men, the collection features ruched utility-style coats in charcoal and burnt orange nylon as well as a statement knitted men’s bustier and parachute jackets with heritage floral and plaid fabrics. Velvet combinations, oversized fringing, racer leather jackets with racing details, and leather patchwork outfits with stargazer prints and quilted parka coats are seen as well throughout the collection.
The women’s collection introduces statement dresses with parachute-inspired transitional skirt detailing, allowing for versatility in styling. Cut-out hoodies add a sporty flair, while back-lace-up jackets introduce a dramatic courtesan element, softening the collection’s utilitarian edge.
Andersson Bell also hints at exciting collaborations to be unveiled later, with the runway showcasing standout accessories like the “Dono” bag, featuring a ruched handle and box design, and the “Dumpling” bag, distinguished by corded stoppers and ribbon detailing.
