Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2024 collection, titled “A Desert Rose,” is inspired by the allure of medina. The collection combines luxurious textures, sculpted lines, and colors reminiscent of a desert landscape.
The collection starts with daybreak, capturing the old city in light pastels and streamlined silhouettes. It features blush pink chiffon, lilac blue crepe, and warm crystal glimmers, symbolizing the rising sun illuminating the city. The designs include gilded coats with intricate metallic knits, silk thread tresses, and ornate details, reflecting the architecture of Marrakesh.
As the day progresses, the collection reveals hidden courtyards with feather flower canopies and gradient capes, alongside organza adorned with dew-kissed florals. The vibrant mosaics and organic motifs of the city are echoed in curve-tracing corsets and twisting halter necklines, flowing into layered colonnade skirts.
The evening brings a transition to shimmering lurex contours, with the pulse of the city resonating through lively street scenes. The collection features aromas of amber and sandalwood, captured in satin drapes, sweetheart necklines, and hourglass silhouettes. Sequin fringe cape sleeves and beaded mermaid tails leading to a veiled look. The mythical Desert Rose materializes at the very end of the collection, with golden foliage turning into a royal bridal train.
