The Feng Chen Wang Autumn Winter 2024 collection is an artistic transformation of tea culture into a design language, expressing a deep respect for nature and traditional values while also reflecting independent contemporary thought. Wang’s designs embody a sense of freedom and confidence, appealing to a community that values her work. This season’s inspiration is rooted in the process of making tea, an integral part of Wang’s cultural heritage. The collection features deep mossy greens inspired by traditional Chinese watercolor paintings, earthy browns from the tea roasting process, and rich caramels and burgundies representing the stages of tea brewing.
In a playful twist, tea sets are reimagined as handbags, enriching the collection with Chinese cultural elements. This season also introduces bamboo bags and wooden handbags, along with glasses featuring bamboo arms, a signature symbol of the brand. The silhouettes in this collection are restrained, resembling corsetry. Defined waists are highlighted with pleats, belts on shin-length coats, and laces integrated into tailored jackets.
The collection centers around the ‘white shirt,’ stripped back to its simplest form and reinterpreted for various occasions. Notably, the collection features denim tailored suits with pleats at the knees and waist, emphasizing the collection’s focus on defined silhouettes.
The Autumn Winter 2024 collection also debuts Wang’s latest collaboration with Converse. The creative design includes a teapot-inspired 3D sole. The 2 in 1 Chuck 70, debuting on the runway, will be released on January 18 as a limited-time ‘seen on the runway’ offering. Additionally, the Chahu 3D moulded sole will be available for preorder.
