The GmbH Winter Spring 2024 collection, titled “UNTITLED NATIONS,” reflects on its six-year journey since its first show in Paris. Created by Benjamin and Serhat, the collection serves as a statement against nationalism and the demonization of marginalized communities, particularly Muslim immigrants in Europe.

This collection is deeply personal and political, resonating with the designers’ experiences as children of Muslim immigrants. It addresses the stereotyping and dehumanization of Muslims, exacerbated post-9/11, and the broader context of centuries-long orientalist tropes leading to profound suffering. The collection is GmbH’s response to the current socio-political climate, marked by the rise of the far right, Nazism, fascism, antisemitism, and Islamophobia across Europe and globally. It challenges the narrative of a struggle between marginalized groups and redirects the focus to the real issues of power, justice, exclusionary nationalism, and universal humanity.

The collection features pieces from both the Winter 2024 and Spring 2024 lines. A notable aspect of the collection is the use of keffiyehs provided by SEP (Social Enterprise Project). These pieces are hand-embroidered by Palestinian and Syrian refugees in the Jerash “Gaza” refugee camp in Jordan. Each SEP piece is a narrative tool that tells the story of the artisans, celebrates their heritage, and voices their longing for a resolution to their displacement.

“UNTITLED NATIONS” is a call to action, with the designers’ active engagement in demonstrations and advocacy for a ceasefire, release of hostages, a free Palestine, and an end to occupation.
