Saint Laurent Rive Droite in Los Angeles, in collaboration with Anthony Vaccarello, unveiled an exhibition in partnership with Eames Office, showcasing seven limited-edition Plywood Sculptures by the well known Charles and Ray Eames. This marks the first time these limited-edition Plywood Sculptures are available for public viewing in Los Angeles, a city significant to their origin. Created in 1943, these sculptures are both pieces of contemporary art and a significant design piece for the 20th century.
The exhibition, coinciding with Palm Springs Modernism Week, will be hosted at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite store and will feature, besides the seven numbered Plywood Sculptures, an array of related artworks by Charles and Ray Eames, including drawings, photographs, and the film “Blacktop.” A specially printed exhibition catalog will be available for visitors, and the featured sculptures will be offered for sale upon request.
