Japanese menswear brand TAAKK introduced its Autumn-Winter 2024 collection. Inspired by the immense design power of nature, the 24 AW collection embodies the theme of “God is in the details amidst the cycle of growth and creation.” This collection diverges from the pursuit of design for its own sake, focusing instead on allowing the fabric to express itself in its purest form, leading to a sense of awe through simplicity.

TAAKK’s designer, Takuya, infuses his passion into the collection with a series of perforated knit embroideries resembling tree trunks, crafted entirely through embroidery. The low-gauge hand-knit threads are threaded through an embroidery machine, creating designs that maintain a bold transparency of the skin while providing a sense of familiarity and security with the cable pattern. This innovative approach to textile design is emblematic of TAAKK’s unique technology in altering fabric composition.

The collection features a transformation of fabrics from wool twill to cotton cut jacquard, culminating in minimalist yet novel expressions of clothing such as a jacket with a central shirt and side padding. TAAKK’s denim also undergoes a transformation, with frayed fabrics from countless joints creating fringes and a chemical wash adding depth. The color palette of the entire collection is dominated by browns, beiges, and blacks, with a striking insertion of lime green.
