For the Fall Winter 2024 season, Ancuta Sarca, knwon for her innovative fusion of sporty aesthetics with high fashion, goes into a realm that is distinctly darker. Drawing inspiration from the psychologically intense narratives and visual motifs of cult classics like “American Psycho” and “Fight Club,” Sarca’s collection has somber color palettes and embraces an atmosphere reminiscent of an eerie, deserted airport lounge.
The showing of the collection happened at the Old Selfridges Hotel, a space transformed into a dimly lit, almost cinematic setting that mimics the collection’s underlying tension. Guests find themselves in Sarca’s imaginative world, greeted by models in bold, minimalist footwear that stands out in shades of red and blue. These pieces, highlighted by their 3D printed wedge soles of durable nylons and flexible TPU materials, are Sarca’s collaboration with HILOS—a partnership focused on technological innovation and sustainable fashion.
The use of deadstock leathers and faux furs in the creation of statement knee-high boots, along with the transformation of surplus fabrics like teddy fleece jumpers and recycled car seat leathers into ankle boots, kitten heels, and slouchy boots, reflects a conscientious approach to fashion, decorated with airbrush effects and wing details.
Beyond footwear, the Autumn Winter 2024 collection introduces the Hoodie Bag, an accessory that captures the season’s theme with its sturdy foam construction and tracksuit-inspired details. Also a part of the collection are deadstock materials transformed into a waist-cinching skirt suit and an elegant evening dress.
