The Courrèges Fall Winter 2024 Collection, under Nicolas Di Felice‘s creative direction, presents an exploration of form and sensuality that redefines the brand’s aesthetic boundaries. This exploration is rooted in the interaction between simplicity and complexity, as seen in the initial gesture of a scarf being wrapped around a neck. This act of intimacy sets the stage for a series of designs where traditional elements are reimagined through a focus on primary shapes and symmetry.

Di Felice employs a reductive process that emphasizes the essence of design, drawing strength from the simplicity of geometric forms. This approach allows for a playful yet methodical reinterpretation of functionality within the collection. Classic features such as notched lapels, ribbed straps, and riveted waistbands are mirrored, creating a visual continuity that highlights the body’s unique form.
Slip dresses with a bias cut, latex shoes, lingerie embellishments, and leather bras are all part of the collection’s exploration of the sensual. These pieces suggest a narrative of unveiling, where the textures and materials used mimic the body’s natural responses, such as the feather appliqués that resemble goosebumps. Accessories like the expanded Holy bag complement these designs, serving as silent accomplices to the wearer’s confidential moments.
Scenography plays a critical role in presenting the collection, transforming the runway into a dynamic space that echoes the themes of breath and emotion. The collaboration with artist Rémy Brière and the creative team Matière Noire results in a catwalk that mimics the rhythm of breathing, enhancing the collection’s emphasis on the sensual and the personal. The soundscape, which includes a piece composed by Sene, Sophie Koella, and Di Felice, culminates in Chopin’s ‘Nocturne’, adding a layer of auditory depth to the visual presentation.
