Le Fame set the stage for Shanghai Fashion Week‘s opening show at HALL RED, Taiping Lake in Shanghai Xintiandi, unveiling its Autumn Winter Ready-to-Wear collection titled the “Modern Shanghai Trilogy.” Inspired by the spirit of Shanghai’s 1920s, where women embraced intellect, emotion, and ambition amidst turbulent times, Le Fame reimagined the city’s iconic style, rich with history, complexity, and myth. The collection paid homage to this era while showcasing the contemporary appeal of Shanghai’s fashion scene. The runway, reminiscent of monochromatic shows from the 1990s, was adorned with dual-frame curtains echoing Art Deco architecture.
Collaborating with independent designer Zhong Zixin, Le Fame presented the collection in three distinct chapters: Vanity Fair, Haunting Crush, and Neo-Chinese. Vanity Fair showcased a serene palette of black and white, exuding elegance suitable for day and night. Luxurious fabrics like velvet and suit fabrics were complemented with dynamic adornments like bows and ostrich feathers, epitomizing the opulent yet understated style of old Shanghai. Haunting Crush introduced Chinese satin in an exquisite X-shaped silhouette, embellished with lace and pearls for a romantic touch. This chapter evoked the appeal of oriental Rococo, capturing the essence of enchantment and sophistication.
In the modern era, Le Fame portrayed the resilience and energy of working women through deconstructed suits and intricately woven herringbone fabric. Sequins and ostrich feathers added an extravagant element, balancing the urban woman’s delicate nature with practical yet free-spirited attire.
Accessories played a pivotal role in encapsulating the essence of contemporary Shanghai style. Collaborating with YVMIN, Le Fame rejuvenated vintage jewelry from the 1920s and 1930s, infusing modern design with nostalgic elements. The brand’s new bag collection paid homage to the iconic “Shanghai Brand” handbag, reinterpreting its essence with fashionable and refined details.
Celebrities and fashion insiders, including Yang Ying, Yang Chaoyue, Hu Lianxin, Xu Jiaqi, Yan Yikuan, and Du Ruoxi, graced the event alongside hundreds of fashion editors, bloggers, and brand enthusiasts, affirming Le Fame’s status as a trailblazer in Shanghai’s fashion scene.
