Entrepreneur and model Karlie Kloss, alongside her husband, billionaire investor Joshua Kushner, is spearheading the revival of LIFE Magazine, marking a significant comeback more than two decades after its regular publication ceased. Their media company, Bedford Media, recently unveiled a partnership with Dotdash Meredith to reintroduce LIFE to both print and digital platforms as a regular publication. This collaboration follows IAC‘s acquisition of Meredith for $2.7 billion, which led to the formation of Dotdash Meredith, subsequent to Meredith’s purchase of Time Inc., the previous owner of LIFE. The decision to revive LIFE comes on the heels of Bedford Media’s acquisition of i-D Magazine from Vice Media Group. Joshua Kushner, founder of venture-capital firm Thrive Capital and brother of Jared Kushner, former White House advisor, assumes the role of publisher for the resurrected LIFE Magazine.

Details of the agreement between Bedford Media and Dotdash Meredith remain undisclosed. Bedford Media will oversee all aspects of the new LIFE Magazine, encompassing editorial strategy, revenue generation, and media initiatives. Dotdash Meredith retains full rights to LIFE’s extensive photography and content archives, spanning back to the 1930s, and will continue producing special interest magazines under the brand for distribution on newsstands.
Karlie Kloss, CEO of Bedford Media, cited LIFE’s enduring legacy and its unique ability to resonate with diverse audiences through universal human stories as a driving force behind their decision. Joshua Kushner also emphasized its historical significance in blending culture, current events, and everyday life, underscoring the magazine’s role in reflecting the triumphs, challenges, and myriad perspectives that define the human experience. Established as a media holding company prioritizing artisanal storytelling and cultural authenticity, Bedford Media aims to distinguish itself by focusing on quality and depth rather than mass appeal.
Wow just buying everything with some brand recognition to push nonsense in it…. 😩
I agree this is a bigger scale problem … they realized they can build a media momentum with paying very few people to work and firing everyone….
Karlie klose is pure evil
