Combining avant-garde design and artisanal craftsmanship, Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster unveil their latest eyewear collaboration. The collection introduces 17 designs that part ways with traditional eyewear aesthetics. Among the standout features are temple-less frames and leather-wrapped spectacles, each decorated with Maison Margiela’s four white stitches.

The campaign, captured through the lens of Jordan Hemingway, takes viewers into a hyper-realistic, dream-like setting that is inspired by the Maison Margiela Co-Ed Spring Summer 2024 Collection. This narrative, centered around a timeless transatlantic voyage, complements the eyewear’s futuristic yet organic design language. Conceived by John Galliano, the MM101 and MM102 models stand out with their voluminous, metallic, mask-like shapes that wrap around the contours of the face. These pieces, especially the temple-less MM101 and MM102, encapsulated in silver Glam Slam eyewear cases, highlight the collection.
To celebrate this innovative collaboration, Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster are launching five pop-up spaces across the globe on March 7th. These events are supposed to feature performances done by a human and a robot. From the streets of Seoul’s Haus Dosan to the district of New York’s Wooster Street, each pop-up space promises an immersive experience that vividly expresses the collection’s theme.
