Casey Cadwallader, the creative mind behind Mugler Fall Winter 2024 collection, orchestrated a fashion experience that was both a tribute to and a reinvention of the brand’s past, giving us a show full of high drama with high fashion. By mining the brand’s rich archives, particularly the vampiric allure of the 1980s, he steered away from the norms of daywear, opting instead for evening looks that are opulent, made of rich textures and fabrics.
The runway show was a planned spectacle that unfolded in three acts, inviting the audience into a world of extravagance and drama. High-profile models, including Precious Lee and Kristen McMenamy, brought the visionary designs to life, moving through clouds of dry ice and dramatic lighting, their silhouettes spotlighted against dramatic curtain drops.
Cadwallader collaborated with contemporary artist Ambera Wellmann, integrating her surrealistic imagery into the collection. This partnership resulted in a series of garments that married form-fitting designs with explosive prints. The finale of the show continued with the exploration of tactile sensations, from fringed fabrics to woven patent-leather tweed.
